Surprise,
Surprise !!!
By Casey Matthews

The NFL’s leading rusher only two seasons ago, retires because
he wants to be free. Then the team that he’s “freed”
himself from wants their money back. So he wants to be in “captivity”
again? Am I the only one that saw this coming?
To me, Ricky is making a complete embarrassment out of himself,
his agent, and his family. The man is making millions of dollars,
doing something that 90% of all mentally stable people would want
to do, but he throws it away for weed, and “freedom”?
Then, he realizes that the Miami Dolphins aren’t going to
go crying like a sixth-grade girlfriend after she gets dumped, and
he wants to come back. Oh but that’s not all. Not only does
he want to be accepted back with warm, welcome arms, but he wants
more money too!! If I was Rick Spielman and I got that ultimatum
from Ricky or his agent, I literally would have fell out of my chair
laughing. And my response would have been, ummm…. “How
bout you pay us our money, and (for lack of better words) get lost.”
Then I would have hung up the phone, gone into Dave W’s office,
and told him the joke I just heard on the phone. Then I would have
held a press conference just to tell the rest of the world the joke
I just heard.
I’ll tell you what, Ricky must be REALLY high to think we
would not only take him back, but give him more money to do so.
Makes me chuckle just thinking about it.
Maybe he should have thought about the consequences of his actions,
before he “forgot” to take the magic juice or whatever
he does to “cover up” the marijuana use. Maybe he can
take up a career selling the drugs.
I for one would be VERY disappointed with the Dolphins, if they
even entertained the idea of letting him play another down for our
team. I would boo Ricky everytime he got the ball, no matter how
good of a play he made. The sting of Ricky’s slap in the face
wore off a long time ago, but that doesn’t mean I’m
ready for another one.
